What is Theme?
Theme is totally different from subject:
i.e. Subject: Friendship Theme : Friendship is more important than money.
Theme is more that just 1 word it's what the message the author is trying to tell you in the story.

Friendship is more important than beauty because Tally and Shay are great friends
and why should they throw that away to be pretty. If Tally’s friend Peris was a
true friend then he would have stayed with her.
Never judge a book by it’s cover because in that world being pretty gets
you everything but in real life it’s the heart that matters. People treat you different
by the way you look.
Friends are trustworthy and you will never do anything to hurt that person, or lose each
other’s trust for one another like Tally trusting Shay to keep her secrets.
